The Illinois River
A wild salmon and steelhead stronghold

The Illinois River is one of the few rivers in Oregon, California and Washington where there's no hatchery supplementation. In other words, it salmon, steelhead and cutthroat trout are native, naturally reproducing populations (i.e. they are wild fish).

The Illinois River is one of the few places in the West—outside of Canada and Alaska—where you can see wild salmon jump natural natural barriers.
